This conical, simple, and above all inexpensive beer glass is the most popular beer glass in North America, where you get American lager or almost any other beer served in it in virtually every bar. Bartenders often fill it to the brim with minimal head.
It was originally designed for mixing cocktails, as one of its names suggests. It features a simple design that facilitates storage and thick glass walls to withstand bar wear and tear. The thick wall also helps keep the beer cold, making it an ideal glass for beers served chilled (e.g., bottom-fermented styles).
Unlike other glasses presented here, it has no special features, but that is precisely what makes it universally usable for both top- and bottom-fermented beers. Today, it is also becoming very popular in Czech microbreweries.
